Business Development Manager

About the role

This is a genuine hunter role reporting to the NZ Business Manager, focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities across quick‑service restaurants, healthcare, aged care and contract catering. You will shape a national growth agenda and build long‑term partnerships for a leading global food and beverage company.

Key responsibilities

• Own the national pipeline and hunt new business across QSR, healthcare, aged care and contract catering.
• Open doors with new customers and convert early conversations into signed partnerships.
• Develop and manage Joint Business Plans to keep growth commitments on track.
• Lead top‑to‑top meetings and quarterly reviews with key accounts.
• Negotiate and close tenders, agreements and commercial proposals.
• Identify market white‑space and build commercial cases to pursue it.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain to deliver the right solution for each customer.
• Monitor forecasts closely and adjust strategies as needed.

Required profile

• 5+ years in a commercial role, preferably within foodservice or out‑of‑home.
• Proven track record of turning cold opportunities into profitable contracts.
• Highly motivated by new‑business hunting rather than account maintenance.
• Data‑driven mindset, comfortable using data to support commercial arguments.
• Strong influencing skills without relying on formal authority.
• Ability to work autonomously with a high degree of independence.
• Experience in aged care, healthcare or QSR is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Confident negotiator across trading terms and tender processes.
