Business Development Manager

About the role

As a Business Development Manager at One NZ, you will drive growth in the Christchurch market by winning new business and building lasting customer relationships. You will work with organisations of 20‑500 employees, turning conversations into commercial outcomes and positioning One NZ as a trusted digital partner.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and customer acquisition.
• Understand customer goals and recommend technology solutions that support growth and innovation.
• Develop and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships to improve conversion and customer experience.
• Lead sales opportunities from initial engagement through to close across mobile, fixed, and ICT solutions.
• Grow market presence through networking, referrals, partnerships, and engagement with key business communities.
• Foster long‑term relationships that drive loyalty, retention, and sustainable growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared team goals and strong customer outcomes.
• Provide clear reporting on sales performance, pipeline activity, and growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably within the telecom or ICT sector.
• Strong prospecting and relationship‑building abilities.
• Commercial drive, curiosity and a passion for delivering value to customers.
• Ability to understand complex business challenges and translate them into technology solutions.
