Business Development Manager – Hospitality

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead proactive sales for conferences & events, corporate accommodation and food & beverage at QT Wellington. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will act as a hunter, building relationships with corporate, government and AOG clients to position QT as a premier lifestyle destination.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive proactive sales activity across conferences & events, corporate accommodation and food & beverage.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with local corporates, government organisations, AOG clients and key Wellington stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, networking meetings, site inspections and client entertainment activities.
  • Identify, secure and grow new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue, Operations and Marketing teams to maximise hotel performance.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, forecasting and account management through CRM and sales systems.

Required profile

  • Previous experience in business development or sales within hotels, hospitality, tourism or corporate services.
  • Proven ability to proactively source, convert and grow new business opportunities.
  • Existing network within the Wellington corporate, government or AOG market is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of conferences & events and food & beverage sales.
  • Excellent relationship‑building, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Commercially minded with a strong focus on achieving targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Confident presenting, networking and representing a premium lifestyle brand in the market.
