Business Development Manager – Field Sales (Hamilton, NZ)

About the role

Thryv is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Hamilton market. This is a pure field‑sales position where you will meet small‑business owners face‑to‑face, introduce them to Thryv’s digital marketing and business management solutions, and own the full sales cycle from prospect to close.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect daily through cold calling, door‑knocking and networking to build a robust pipeline.
• Meet SMB owners in person, understand their challenges, and present tailored digital marketing solutions.
• Manage the entire sales process, including negotiation, closing, and handover to onboarding.
• Achieve and exceed monthly new‑business targets consistently.
• Plan and organise territory activities, maintain accurate pipeline records, and report results to the Account Director.
• Stay informed on Thryv product updates, competitive landscape, and SMB market trends.

Required profile

• Proven B2B sales track record in a field‑sales environment.
• Ability to generate and manage a cold pipeline independently.
• Strong consultative selling approach with a focus on delivering real value quickly.
