About the role
LexisNexis is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive new B2B revenue for its AI‑led legal and compliance solutions. The role is focused on hunting, prospecting and closing new customers across Auckland or Wellington, with flexible hybrid working.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, pursue and close new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects.
- Engage senior decision‑makers through outbound calls, discovery meetings and tailored demos.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing.
- Negotiate commercial terms and prepare compelling proposals.
- Apply a structured sales methodology to ensure consistent results.
- Collaborate with marketing, pre‑sales and wider sales teams to maximise wins.
- Maintain high energy, resilience and pace in a fast‑moving environment.
Required profile
- 3–5 years of B2B sales experience with a strong focus on new‑business acquisition.
- Background in SaaS, software, legal, compliance or professional services; AI knowledge is a plus.
- Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing end‑to‑end sales cycles.
- Strong prospecting, qualification and closing abilities.
- Confidence engaging senior stakeholders in a consultative setting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- CRM experience, preferably Salesforce.
- Hunter mindset – driven, resilient and results‑oriented.
