Business Controller – Star Ops & Performance

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑focused Business Controller to partner with Star Hospitality leaders and drive venue performance across our portfolio. Reporting to the Business Control Manager, you will provide financial insights, cost and labour analysis, forecasting and operational reporting to support better business decisions and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis and reporting on labour, overheads, controllable costs and venue profitability.
• Partner with operational leaders to deliver insights that support commercial and operational decision‑making.
• Lead cost performance reviews and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes.
• Analyse venue‑level performance and recommend actions to improve results.
• Build strong relationships with venue managers and operational leaders to improve financial understanding.
• Support governance, risk management and financial control processes.
• Contribute to operational improvement projects, business cases and cost optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualification is advantageous.
• 5+ years’ experience in commercial finance, FP&A, business partnering, cost control or hospitality/retail finance.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling abilities with a focus on turning data into practical business insights.
• Proven experience working with operational stakeholders and influencing decisions.
