Business Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the Ministry of Justice and help translate strategic priorities into practical actions. This role works closely with senior leaders to shape decisions, improve processes and drive better outcomes across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to understand strategic priorities, emerging issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Provide analysis and insight that clarifies problems and identifies practical pathways forward.
• Challenge thinking constructively, ask the right questions and maintain a strong outcome focus.
• Review and improve business processes, frameworks and ways of working for greater efficiency and impact.
• Translate complex information into clear options, recommendations and actions.
• Work across initiatives and business areas to connect the dots, identify inter‑dependencies and support successful change.
• Build trusted relationships and influence a wide stakeholder group, including senior leaders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business analysis, advisory or a similar role within a complex organisation.
• Ability to operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels.
• Strong facilitation, problem‑framing and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities, with confidence to influence senior leaders.
• Track record of delivering meaningful process improvements.
• Sound judgement, curiosity and comfort working through ambiguity.
• Focus on outcomes rather than just outputs.
