Bridge Engineer – Whangārei

About the role

We are looking for a Bridge Engineer to join our Whangārei office and work on a diverse portfolio of bridge projects across Northland. The role offers exposure from concept design through to construction, focusing on assessment, strengthening, and refurbishment of existing bridge structures.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex structural analysis of existing bridges and related assets.
• Develop and deliver retrofit, strengthening and refurbishment designs.
• Support bridge projects during construction and manage site inspections.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on asset management and maintenance programmes.
• Contribute to client and project management activities, building technical capability.

Required profile

• Qualified structural engineer with at least three years of post‑graduation experience.
• Demonstrated experience in bridge design, assessment or remediation.
• Interest in innovative solutions that extend the life of existing infrastructure.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and willingness to continue learning.
