Brand Strategy Director

About the role

Our client is seeking a Brand Strategy Director to lead and expand a newly created creative offering across Australasia. Based in Auckland, Sydney or Melbourne, you will shape the strategic direction, growth and commercial success of the practice while working on diverse brand projects.

Key responsibilities

• Drive new‑business growth across New Zealand and Australia, leading pitches and converting opportunities into long‑term client partnerships.
• Lead complex brand strategy projects from discovery through implementation, uncovering insights and building strategic platforms.
• Mentor, develop and manage a high‑performing strategy team of around 10 people, fostering culture and capability.
• Collaborate closely with creatives, designers and experience specialists to ensure strategic outcomes are impactful and well‑executed.
• Oversee commercial planning, forecasting, pricing, utilisation and P&L responsibilities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in brand, strategy or design agencies, with a proven track record of leading large‑scale strategic initiatives.
• Strong commercial drive, industry presence and existing client relationships in the ANZ market.
• Demonstrated ability to build and nurture senior‑level relationships and grow agency revenue.
• Experienced people leader capable of building and scaling high‑performing teams.
