Biology & Python Expert - Freelance AI Trainer

About the role

We are looking for a Biology and Python specialist to design and implement computational biology challenges for a cutting‑edge AI model. The work is project‑based, remote, and paid per task, allowing you to contribute your expertise while staying flexible.

Key responsibilities

• Design computational biology problems that require a specialized tool (e.g., NEURON, Brian2, OpenSim, AMICI, MNE‑Python).
• Write a Python reference solution, provide input files and model definitions.
• Define the numerical answer and tolerance needed for the AI model to succeed.
• Test and calibrate the problem using parallel runs to achieve a target pass rate of 10‑30%.
• Iterate on problem difficulty, adjusting solver settings and stimulation protocols.
• Submit the final task for senior reviewer feedback and approval.

Required profile

• Degree in Biology or a related field.
• At least 2 years of research, applied, or teaching experience.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Fluency with, or willingness to quickly learn, at least one scriptable computational biology package (e.g., NEURON, Brian2, NEST, OpenSim, AMICI, libroadrunner, MNE‑Python, Biopython).
• Ability to design problems that genuinely need a specialized solver.
• Excellent written English (C1 level or higher).
