About the role
The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Bailiff to join its national Collections team. This permanent, full‑time role involves enforcing outstanding fines, reparation, and civil debt as part of the District Court's enforcement arm.
Key responsibilities
- Collect money by enforcing fines, reparation orders and civil debts.
- Serve court documents and execute warrants, including evictions and vehicle seizures.
- Attach wheel clamps or seize assets to recover outstanding amounts.
- Work independently on the road, visiting homes, workplaces and liaising with police and local authorities.
- Maintain physical fitness to safely perform enforcement actions.
Required profile
- Full Class‑1 driver’s licence.
- Ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
- Outcome‑focused with strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Resilience and the capacity to handle confrontational situations.
