Back End Software Engineer (Senior)

About the role

XeXe is rebuilding the platform layer behind its cross‑border payments service. Backed by Euronet Worldwide, the company enables SMEs and consumers to collect, convert, hold, and send money internationally. As a Senior Back‑End Engineer you will own end‑to‑end delivery of money‑moving services, shape API design and data models, ensure production reliability, and mentor mid‑level engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own backend services that handle onboarding, KYC/KYB, payment initiation, FX, settlement and balance management.
• Lead cross‑functional delivery with product, compliance and operations from problem framing through launch.
• Build partner integrations and settlement infrastructure required by your domain.
• Maintain production health: reliability, observability, on‑call rotation and incident response.
• Conduct design reviews, set technical direction, and mentor junior engineers.
• Use agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) daily across the software development lifecycle and modernise legacy services.

Required profile

• 6‑10+ years of experience building production backend services end‑to‑end.
• Strong proficiency in C#/.NET (Java, Kotlin, Go acceptable).
• Solid SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Daily use of AI‑assisted coding tools.
• Hands‑on AWS experience (SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, Lambda) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise in service‑oriented, micro‑services and event‑driven architectures.
• Background in payments, FX or other regulated industries.
• Proven technical leadership: mentoring, design reviews, architecture decisions.
