Automation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Automation Engineer to join our growing automation specialist team in Hamilton, delivering cutting‑edge industrial projects for New Zealand’s leading manufacturers. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from design through to commissioning, and will work on a variety of challenging automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and commission automation systems for industrial applications.
• Own projects end‑to‑end, ensuring technical specifications are met and deadlines are achieved.
• Collaborate with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Provide on‑site support and troubleshooting during commissioning and handover phases.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience in automation.
• Proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Hamilton and travel as required.
