Associate Finance Business Partner

About the role

The University of Auckland is seeking an Associate Finance Business Partner to join the Financial Business Services team for a 12‑month fixed‑term assignment. You will provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and advisory services to Service Division business units, supporting strategic decision‑making across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse management reports, budgets and forecasts for multiple Service Divisions.
• Provide insightful commentary and financial advice to internal customers.
• Maintain and enhance performance reporting tools, including Power BI dashboards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting and compliance with best practices.
• Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Required profile

• Intermediate‑level accountant with a strong management accounting background.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Organised with high attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Chartered Accountant qualification (CAANZ, CPA or equivalent) preferred but not essential.

Required skills

• Power BI or similar performance reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with large ERP systems such as PeopleSoft and Workday.
