Associate Director, Postgraduate Recruitment

The University of Auckland is seeking an Associate Director to lead its postgraduate recruitment function, the largest of its kind in New Zealand. This senior position combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution to drive growth, partnerships and conversion across the postgraduate portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the overall strategy for postgraduate recruitment, ensuring alignment with university growth targets.
• Manage and optimise lead‑generation, conversion and acquisition processes at scale.
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships with academic departments, external agencies and industry stakeholders.
• Monitor performance metrics, analyse trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Champion a flexible, hybrid working model while maintaining high‑impact delivery.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in recruitment, marketing or related fields, preferably within higher education.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage large‑scale programmes.
