Assistant Programme Manager (Kids Programs)

About the role

Join sKids as an Assistant Programme Manager and help create memorable mornings and afternoons for children across New Zealand. Working at the Matua Ngaru site, you will support the Programme Manager in delivering safe, inclusive, and fun out‑of‑school experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Programme Manager with daily operations and ensure sessions run smoothly.
• Act as second‑in‑command, leading activities when the manager is absent.
• Supervise large groups of tamariki, maintaining safety and a positive atmosphere.
• Help plan and deliver arts & crafts, sports, games, and off‑site trips.
• Manage challenging behaviour using positive guidance strategies.
• Support and mentor Programme Assistants on shift.
• Communicate clearly with parents, caregivers, and school staff.
• Set‑up, pack‑down, and prepare resources for each session.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in New Zealand (visa or citizenship).
• Reliable transport to the Matua Ngaru site.
• Experience working with groups of children (e.g., childcare, coaching, camps).
• Comfortable stepping into a leadership role and making decisions.
• Ability to manage group behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Team‑player with strong communication skills for both children and adults.
• Age 20 years or older.
