Assistant Manager - Audit

About the role

Deloitte’s Wellington Audit team is seeking an Assistant Manager to join a leading professional services firm. You will work with a diverse client base across corporate, private and public sectors, delivering audit and assurance services that add real value.

Key responsibilities

• Present audit findings and recommend or implement advisory advice.
• Review written advice, reports, memoranda and other deliverables.
• Apply analytical thinking and problem‑solving to shape client business strategies.
• Understand audit and risk advisory issues to address complex stakeholder needs.
• Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with clients, teams and individuals.
• Deliver exceptional client service while fostering collaboration across businesses and borders.

Required profile

• 3 to 4 years of audit experience in a corporate Chartered Accountant environment.
• Professional qualification such as CA or equivalent is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical, numerical and research skills.
• Project management capability and problem‑solving aptitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IFRS and New Zealand accounting standards.
• Advanced Excel skills.
