Assistant Accountant – Shared Services

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join EVT Shared Services in New Zealand. The role will support the Accounts Payable function across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage supplier invoice workflows and process payments in line with company policies.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts and monitor upcoming payment requirements.
• Perform month‑end activities including bank reconciliations, journal entries and creditors trial balances.
• Review supplier onboarding and master‑data changes for accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve payment queries.
• Conduct Payment Times Reporting analysis to meet compliance obligations.
• Ensure adherence to taxation, audit and regulatory requirements across entities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Accounts Payable process.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing supplier payments, bank reconciliations and month‑end processes.
• Familiarity with Coupa, Infor SunSystems, online banking platforms and Office 365.
• Strong reporting and data‑analysis capabilities.
• Attention to detail in cash‑forecasting, journal review and payment accuracy.
• Ability to resolve invoice workflow issues and communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
