Application Support & Maintenance Specialist – Auckland

About the role

DXC Technology is seeking experienced Application Support & Maintenance Specialists to join its Auckland team. The role involves supporting a portfolio of custom‑built and commercial off‑the‑shelf applications for a leading manufacturing client, ensuring reliability and continuous improvement. Positions are permanent and include participation in a rotational on‑call roster.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational support, maintenance and enhancement services for custom and COTS applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and complex technical issues.
• Develop, test and implement application enhancements and defect fixes.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and release.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance system stability, performance and supportability.
• Participate in a 24 × 7 on‑call support roster for critical and high‑priority incidents.
• Perform knowledge‑transfer activities, including documentation and transition to steady‑state support.

Required profile

• For senior roles: 8+ years of experience supporting and maintaining enterprise applications, proven ability to lead investigation and resolution of complex production issues, strong stakeholder engagement and mentoring skills.
• For mid‑level roles: several years of experience in application support, maintenance or software development with solid troubleshooting and enhancement delivery capabilities.
