Anaesthetic Technician – Part‑time (0.6 FTE)

About the role

Mercy Hospital is seeking a qualified Anaesthetic Technician to join our multidisciplinary team on a permanent part‑time basis (0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week). You will work Monday to Friday, providing essential clinical and technical support to Anaesthetists and ensuring safe delivery of anaesthesia for a wide range of procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional, technical and clinical assistance to Anaesthetists.
• Assist with the safe administration of anaesthesia to patients.
• Anticipate potential problems and deliver exceptional patient care.
• Coordinate and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in quality‑improvement processes and activities.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Demonstrated professional judgement and ability to work in a culturally safe manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships within a multidisciplinary team.
• High attention to detail and a proactive, flexible attitude.
