AI Engineer – Generative & Agentic AI Solutions

About the role

Deloitte is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy generative and agentic AI solutions for both internal staff and external clients. You will work in the Auckland office, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to bring cutting‑edge AI capabilities into real‑world enterprise environments.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer end‑to‑end generative and multi‑agent AI workflows, delivering sprint outcomes from concept to production.
• Collaborate with Deloitte teams to capture technical requirements and architect AI solutions integrated with enterprise data platforms.
• Establish robust LLMOps pipelines, including automated evaluation, observability, prompt versioning, safety red‑team testing, and cost/latency optimisation.
• Develop models and pipelines using containerisation, CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, and cloud‑native services while embedding security, privacy, and responsible‑AI controls.
• Implement retrieval and grounding strategies such as chunking, hybrid search, and metadata filtering to improve reliability and factuality.

Required profile

• Experience delivering end‑to‑end AI projects in fast‑paced, complex enterprise settings.
