AI Creative Director

About the role

GHD is seeking an AI Creative Director to lead the transition to AI‑powered creativity across its global marketing and creative teams. The role combines hands‑on creative direction, advanced AI capabilities, and brand stewardship to embed generative tools into everyday workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the shift to AI‑driven creativity across brand, campaign, social, presentations, print, landing pages and client‑facing materials.
• Translate brand strategy into practical systems, assets, guardrails and examples for consistent application.
• Convert business, audience and client insights into distinctive creative concepts that support marketing and business development.
• Provide hands‑on creative direction while balancing ambition, brand integrity, commercial relevance and delivery.
• Develop AI‑assisted production methods, prompts, templates and repeatable workflows to improve speed and quality.
• Deliver scalable creative outputs for campaigns, presentations, pursuit materials and marketing formats.
• Coach designers, marketers and regional teams on AI‑enabled creative methods and responsible AI use.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in creative direction or agency leadership, managing multidisciplinary creative or marketing teams.
• Proven ability to turn brand strategy into practical creative systems and assets for global teams.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools in real creative workflows and building playbooks, standards and brand guardrails.
• Strong capability to translate insights into standout concepts that deliver measurable results.
• Experience mentoring teams on AI tools and presenting to senior executives.

Required skills

• High proficiency with Figma.
• Experience with node‑based generative tools such as ComfyUI, Weavy, Flora, Krea or Freepik Spaces.
• Familiarity with generative AI design tools.
