Advice Quality Analyst

About the role

We are seeking experienced Advice Quality Analysts to join our Distribution team in Auckland or Wellington. In this role you will ensure that insurance and investment advice delivered to members meets professional and regulatory standards, while supporting advisers through constructive feedback and coaching.

Key responsibilities

• Review insurance and investment advice documentation for completeness, accuracy and compliance with MAS processes and regulatory requirements.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to advisers, highlighting gaps, risks and improvement opportunities before advice is issued.
• Collaborate with advisers and leaders to uplift capability through coaching conversations and practical guidance.
• Sign off on advice documentation once all requirements are satisfied.
• Support workflow management within the Advice Quality Analyst team, including prioritisation and operational planning.
• Identify and propose improvements to advice processes, efficiency and overall adviser and member experience.
• Contribute insights on trends for reporting and discussions with Distribution leadership to enable data‑informed decisions.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in operations, advice quality, governance, compliance or a similar financial‑services role.
• Strong understanding of insurance and/or investment advice, including industry best practice and regulatory obligations.
• NZ Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 (or equivalent) – essential.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking and decision‑making abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for delivering constructive feedback.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with advisers and internal teams.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills to handle competing priorities.
