Accountant / Senior Accountant – Business Advisory

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is seeking an Accountant or Senior Accountant to join its Tax and Business Advisory team. You will work closely with a diverse portfolio of small, medium and large enterprises, providing expert advice on accounting, tax and strategic business matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of business and tax issues, including transaction work, operations, strategy and domestic/international tax.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key client contacts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, income tax returns and ongoing tax compliance.
• Prepare management accounts, forecasts and budgets to support client objectives.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture and act as a role model for colleagues and clients.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of accounting and/or tax experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• Completed or progressing towards CA/CPA qualification.
• Strong analytical mindset and high commitment to client service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
