Accountant – Flexible Hours (20‑40 hrs/week)

About the role

SouthRoads is seeking a commercially‑minded Accountant to join its supportive team on a permanent basis. The role offers flexible working hours (20‑40 hrs per week) and the chance to influence real infrastructure projects across Southland.

Key responsibilities

• Support aggregate costing, performance analysis and stock movements.
• Deliver job and contract costing insights to enhance profitability.
• Partner with operational managers to analyse costs and performance.
• Assist with reporting, forecasting, process improvements and financial planning.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a commercial, contracting or construction environment.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working across financial systems.
• Interest in costing, business performance and operational decision‑making.
• Proactive, curious and collaborative mindset.
