Accountant – Finance Team (Christchurch)

About the role

Join the Group Finance team at Ngāi Tahu Holdings Corporation, providing accounting and reporting support across the corporation and its capital arm. You will help deliver accurate financial statements, support budgeting, tax, treasury and audit activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Support statutory financial statement preparation and external audits.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Assist with tax compliance, including GST, FBT and withholding tax.
• Support treasury activities and investment reporting.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting and processes.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification with current CA ANZ membership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related discipline.
• 2–3 years’ experience in financial accounting, management accounting, assurance or professional services.
• Experience preparing statutory financial statements under IFRS and/or PBE requirements.
• Experience preparing year‑end audit workpapers and liaising with external auditors.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel capability.
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Business Central or Navision.
