Account Manager – B2B Sales for Metals Processing

About the role

Vulcan is seeking an Account Manager to drive growth of its plates processing business across New Zealand. This hands‑on, target‑driven B2B sales role focuses on winning new business, expanding revenue, and building long‑term client partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities throughout the region.
• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of key accounts.
• Prepare accurate quotes, costings and margin calculations.
• Deliver sales presentations and technical product solutions.
• Monitor market trends, pipeline activity and upcoming projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure on‑time delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently achieve targets.

Required profile

• 2+ years of B2B/external sales experience.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Hunter mindset with strong new‑business development capability.
• Experience in quoting, pricing and margin management.
• Solid numerical and commercial acumen.
• Ability to manage pipeline forecasting and negotiate effectively.
• Intermediate proficiency with CRM, Excel and quoting systems.
• Nice to have: experience in steel, manufacturing or construction; technical or solution‑based sales background; knowledge of plates or industrial products.
