Team Manager – Community Response (Fixed‑term)

About the role

Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN) is seeking a Team Manager to lead its Community Response service, an integrated, whānau‑centred programme that provides timely support to families experiencing or at risk of family violence. Based in Auckland, this fixed‑term role (until May 2027) will oversee a frontline team delivering coordinated social work, advocacy and community‑based interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and develop the Community Response Team, fostering a culture aligned with PSN values.
• Manage recruitment, induction and ongoing workforce development.
• Oversee intake, triage and allocation of referrals, ensuring risk‑based prioritisation and high‑quality case management.
• Maintain oversight of high‑risk cases and support staff with complex situations.
• Coordinate wrap‑around, community‑based responses, linking families with counselling, advocacy and programme services.
• Build and sustain partnerships with Police, MSD, Oranga Tamariki, health providers and other community agencies.
• Monitor service performance, conduct practice audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with PSN policies, contractual obligations and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading frontline social service or family‑violence teams.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, safety planning and family‑violence dynamics.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads and high‑risk situations.
• Experience in triage, service coordination and integrated service delivery.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with community and government partners.
• Commitment to culturally grounded practice and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
