Supervisor Carpenter / Builder

About the role

You will lead a team of carpenters and building maintenance staff, coordinating daily activities while staying hands‑on on the tools. The role ensures all carpentry and building works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard for client facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a team of carpenters and maintenance staff, providing clear direction and on‑site leadership.
• Coordinate daily workloads, labour allocation and job priorities across reactive maintenance, minor projects and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Perform hands‑on carpentry work as required, modelling high workmanship standards.
• Liaise with clients on‑site to ensure works meet scope, timelines and expectations.
• Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures.

Required profile

• Building‑trade qualified (LBP where applicable) with a strong carpentry background.
• Previous experience supervising carpentry teams in a commercial environment.
• Commercial maintenance experience is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to deal directly with clients professionally.
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety in a commercial setting.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to use a tablet/iPad for job dispatch, reporting and communication.
