Senior Manager Financial Crime Intelligence and Insights

About the role

Westpac is seeking an experienced leader to head its Financial Crime Intelligence & Insights function. Based in Auckland, this senior position reports to the Head of Customer Care Operations and works closely with executive stakeholders to shape the bank’s fraud, scams and AML strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing team of senior analysts and intelligence specialists.
• Deliver accurate, timely intelligence that informs financial crime strategy and decision‑making.
• Drive continuous improvement across fraud, scams and AML analytics capabilities.
• Provide insights and reporting to senior stakeholders, including executive and board‑level forums.
• Build strong relationships with regulators, industry partners and internal business units to stay ahead of emerging risks.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience, capable of leading leaders and influencing at executive level.
• Deep expertise in financial crime domains such as fraud, scams, AML or related areas.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate complex insights into actionable outcomes.
• Commercial judgement and collaborative, outcomes‑focused leadership style.
