Senior IT Project Manager – Payroll Implementation

About the role

Rocket Lab is looking for a dynamic Senior IT Project Manager to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of a new payroll system (ADP) across its Auckland operations. This 12‑month fixed‑term position will drive a high‑impact transformation that supports finance, launch operations and other critical business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the ADP payroll solution to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
• Develop project charters, timelines, resource plans and risk assessments.
• Deliver projects on time, within scope and on budget.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, coordinate internal resources and manage external vendors.
• Maintain stakeholder alignment, executive communication and change‑control procedures.
• Track performance using Smartsheet, MS Project, Confluence and JIRA.
• Maintain RAID logs and drive risk mitigation actions.

Required profile

• 8+ years of proven project‑management experience, including large‑scale enterprise initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
