Senior Full Stack Developer – Digital Channels

About the role

BNZ is looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join its Digital Channels team. You will help shape the future of the bank’s web customer channel, delivering modern, reliable digital experiences for millions of users across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end customer‑facing improvements: define problems, break work into milestones, implement changes and release safely.
• Make pragmatic design choices that balance short‑term delivery with long‑term maintainability, scalability and operational impact.
• Solve ambiguous problems by shaping requirements with product owners, proposing options and guiding trade‑offs to an agreed solution.
• Protect reliability and quality through production support, issue investigation and preventative improvements.
• Lift the team by collaborating across disciplines, providing thoughtful code reviews, mentoring junior members and sharing knowledge.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior full‑stack developer delivering web applications in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work with unclear requirements.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a passion for mentoring and raising team standards.
• Willingness to work on‑site three days a week and remotely two days.
