Project Manager – Capital Delivery Infrastructure

About the role

Join Watercare’s Capital Delivery team to lead infrastructure projects that support Auckland’s growth and climate‑resilient future. With a $14 billion programme over the next decade, you will work on wastewater pipelines, pump stations, rising mains and related assets, delivering tangible community benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver capital works projects from feasibility through design, construction and closure, ensuring safety, cost, schedule and quality targets.
• Manage pipeline renewals, pump stations, rising mains and pipe bridges ranging from $500 k to $30 m.
• Apply Watercare’s Project Management Framework and produce clear reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants and cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
• Maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants and internal teams.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of project management experience in engineering or construction.
• Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) with a solid engineering background.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects, balance competing priorities and drive results.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Experience in the water or wastewater sector is desirable but not mandatory.
