Product Designer – Assessment (Fixed‑Term)

About the role
The Product Designer – Assessment will join the Curriculum and Assessment Change Programme within Te Poutāhū Curriculum Centre. This fixed‑term position (until 30 June 2027) supports the refresh and development of the senior secondary curriculum (years 11‑13) and ensures assessment products meet quality and publication standards.
Key responsibilities
- Apply senior secondary curriculum‑aligned assessment design principles to develop new assessment products.
- Conduct quality‑assurance testing to verify that all deliverables meet publication‑level standards.
- Collaborate with workstreams, curriculum designers and other Te Poutāhū business units to ensure seamless transition of products into ongoing delivery and support.
- Maintain alignment with the New Zealand Curriculum, Te Marautanga o Aotearoa and Te Whāriki.
- Use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities that inform product development.
Required profile
- Proven expertise in senior secondary assessment design.
- Experience working in programme or project environments.
- Strong understanding of New Zealand’s national curricula and contemporary assessment research.
- Ability to build relationships and partnerships across a complex organisation.
- Commitment to a knowledge‑rich, bicultural and inclusive curriculum.
