Principal Engineer

About the role

This is a high‑impact Principal Engineer position within a large, complex banking environment undergoing significant transformation. The role combines strategic influence with hands‑on delivery, shaping the technology landscape across engineering, integration, data and architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development layer, raising engineering standards, principles and best practices.
• Design and drive integration across Salesforce and broader platforms, including API design and service architecture.
• Act as a thought leader for architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with regulatory and enterprise standards.
• Shape and embed CI/CD pipelines, development frameworks and engineering governance.
• Deliver scalable, resilient solutions across complex systems in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Provide direction for data architecture, system design and integration strategy.
• Support the adoption of AI and emerging technologies as part of the broader roadmap.
• Influence senior stakeholders and clarify complex technical and business challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering standards and best‑practice adoption.
• Strong background in integration, API design and service‑oriented architecture.
• Deep understanding of data architecture and distributed systems within a regulated banking context.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic technical decisions.
