Platform Engineer – Azure & Kubernetes (3‑6 month contract)

About the role

You will design, build and maintain secure, automated platform capabilities on Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes. The role focuses on delivering compliant, resilient environments for containerised applications while embedding security and accreditation controls.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain secure Azure environments for development and production workloads.
• Design, operate and optimise Kubernetes platforms and artefact repositories.
• Implement platform guardrails, lifecycle controls and runtime security policies.
• Develop automated CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration‑as‑code practices.
• Generate assurance evidence for system accreditation and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Support platform resilience, recoverability and produce operational documentation and runbooks.

Required profile

• Proven experience engineering platforms on Microsoft Azure.
• Secret‑level security clearance.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, container technologies and artefact repositories.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation in security‑sensitive environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems and secure software supply‑chain practices.
• Background working in regulated or high‑security contexts.
