Lift Service Technician – Wellington

About the role

We are looking for a permanent, full‑time Lift Service Technician to join Schindler’s Installation and Maintenance team in Wellington. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing lifts and escalators, ensuring safe and reliable operation for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on lifts and escalators across the Wellington region.
• Identify sales opportunities and promote Schindler Service and Repairs to customers.
• Provide technical support and training to the regional team, driving safety and quality initiatives.
• Support the Sales department with site surveys and customer visits.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Lift Service Technician or Lift Repairs Technician.
• Relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification (Trade Certificate or Diploma) in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• EWRB Electrical Service Technician registration (or Limited Certificate/Provisional License).
• Full, clean NZ driver’s licence.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and customer experience.
• Ability to work under pressure, solve problems quickly and collaborate with teams.
