Lecturer (Teaching and Admin), Industry Liaison – Electrical and Computer Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Lecturer to join the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Canterbury. The role combines teaching, administration and industry liaison, focusing on the ENEL400 capstone project that embeds real‑world engineering challenges into the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage and grow relationships with local, regional and national engineering industry partners.
• Collaborate with academics and industry to scope, design and deliver industry‑based projects for ENEL400.
• Teach ENEL400 modules and supervise student capstone projects.
• Lead departmental industry‑focused activities such as marketing, outreach and research engagement.
• Support the integration of industry projects across undergraduate Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Mechatronic programmes.

Required profile

• Qualified engineer (Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent) in electrical, electronic, computer, software or mechatronics engineering.
• Significant industry experience and established networks within the engineering community.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with industry partners, academic staff and students.
• Strong communication skills and a structured, organised approach to project management.
