Lead Developer (3-Month Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Developer on a three‑month contract to ensure a smooth transition, operational continuity and ongoing enhancement of an established enterprise platform used in a regulated government‑healthcare environment. The role is hands‑on, covering application support, issue resolution, platform maintenance, integrations and technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across an existing enterprise application platform
• Support operational continuity and platform stabilisation activities
• Investigate and resolve production issues, defects, and performance bottlenecks
• Manage and enhance existing .NET‑based applications and services
• Support and maintain SharePoint‑based solutions and workflows
• Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams on deployments and operational support
• Assist with transition and knowledge‑transfer activities
• Maintain platform reliability, security, and supportability
• Support integrations with internal and external systems
• Participate in release planning, testing, and deployment activities
• Produce and maintain technical documentation where required
• Provide guidance and mentoring to other technical team members as needed

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience supporting and maintaining enterprise production systems
• Proven troubleshooting and debugging skills in live operational environments
• Experience with both legacy and modernised application environments
• Ability to balance operational BAU requirements with enhancement work
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
• Solid understanding of application security, authentication, and access control
• Experience working within government, healthcare or other regulated sectors (highly desirable)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities
• Highly desirable experience with Azure services
