Laundry Assistant – Part‑time (20 hrs/week)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Laundry Assistant to join our team at Broadview Lifecare in Whanganui on a part‑time basis (20 hours per week). You will play a key part in delivering a clean and safe environment for our residents by managing the laundry and dry‑cleaning services within our 85‑bed care home and hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Operate washing, drying and ironing equipment to process residents’ laundry efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation of all linen and garments.
• Sort, fold and store laundry according to infection‑control and privacy guidelines.
• Collaborate with the wider care team and support weekend and shift coverage as required.
• Follow health & safety, infection control and Treaty of Waitangi standards in daily tasks.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a laundry or similar environment is preferred; full training will be provided.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi‑skilled team.
• Physically fit to handle the demands of the role.
• Awareness of health & safety, infection control and privacy legislation.
