Laundry Assistant – Part‑time (20 hrs/week)

About the role

Join the Broadview Lifecare team in Whanganui as a Laundry Assistant on a permanent part‑time basis. You will provide a reliable laundry service for residents, supporting a warm and caring environment within an 85‑bed care home and hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, wash, dry, fold and return laundry items for residents and staff.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all laundry processes.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and follow health‑and‑safety, infection‑control and privacy guidelines.
• Work flexible AM, PM and weekend shifts to meet the facility’s needs.
• Collaborate with a multi‑skilled team while also handling tasks independently.

Required profile

• Physically fit to perform the duties of the role.
• Very good interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Awareness of health & safety, infection control and the Privacy Act.
• Understanding of Nga Paerewa sector standards and Treaty of Waitangi principles.

Required skills

• Previous laundry experience (preferred, training provided).
