Kitchen Attendant

About the role

As a Kitchen Attendant at Novotel & Ibis Auckland Ellerslie, you will support the kitchen team to ensure a clean, organised and well‑stocked environment, enabling chefs to deliver high‑quality meals for hotel guests. This role involves basic food preparation, dishwashing, waste management and stock handling in a fast‑paced hospitality setting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, equipment and dishes, adhering to hygiene standards.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation and support during busy service periods.
• Manage waste by regularly removing rubbish and recycling, keeping disposal areas tidy.
• Receive, store and rotate food and supplies following health, safety and food‑handling procedures.
• Help keep the kitchen well‑stocked and organised throughout the shift.

Required profile

• Friendly, professional attitude with strong communication and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work a rotating 7‑day roster, including early mornings or late‑night shifts.
• Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices; prior kitchen or hotel service experience is a plus.
