About the role

Join Trimble's CTCT division in Christchurch to develop cutting‑edge positioning and control software for heavy construction and mining equipment. As an intermediate C++ Software Engineer you will help shape the future of machine guidance by delivering high‑quality, real‑time solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core C++ code for machine control systems.
• Contribute to Android and web (Angular) codebases for next‑generation applications.
• Collaborate with international domain experts and development teams to deliver measurable customer value.
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure predictability, quality, and reliability of mission‑critical products.
• Integrate positioning technologies such as GPS, lasers, and IMUs into software solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience developing C++ applications.
• Relevant tertiary qualification (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Mechatronics or equivalent).
• Strong drive for innovation, curiosity and willingness to learn.
• Excellent analytical, decision‑making and verbal/written communication skills.
