Graduate Transmission Lines & Distribution Engineer

About the role

Join Aurecon’s Transmission and Distribution practice in Tauranga as a Graduate Transmission Lines & Distribution Engineer. You will start your engineering career working on real client projects, gaining hands‑on experience with power‑system design and renewable‑energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and apply transmission line design tools such as PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole and PLS‑Tower.
• Interpret and follow engineering standards, including ASNZS7000, for transmission design.
• Support design and analysis of renewable‑energy projects such as battery energy storage systems, solar farms and wind farms across New Zealand.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, advisory and design to deliver project deliverables.
• Participate in workshops, self‑paced learning and professional development activities toward chartership.

Required profile

• Washington Accord‑accredited degree in Electrical, Civil/Structural, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (completed or near completion).
• Available to start full‑time in early February 2027.
• Strong curiosity, problem‑solving mindset and team‑oriented communication skills.
• Motivation to develop both technical and consulting capabilities.
