Gardener

About the role

Heritage Lifecare is seeking a permanent, full‑time Gardener to join its team at the Harewood Road site in Papanui, Christchurch. Working on AM shifts, you will be responsible for maintaining the lawns, gardens and outdoor areas to a high standard for our aged‑care residents.

Key responsibilities

• Mow, edge and trim lawns and garden beds.
• Control weeds, prune shrubs and perform general garden upkeep.
• Operate and maintain gardening equipment safely.
• Ensure all outdoor areas are presented to an exceptional standard.
• Work independently to manage daily tasks efficiently.

Required profile

• Previous gardening, landscaping or lawn‑mowing experience (preferred).
• Horticultural certification or relevant experience (preferred).
• Physically fit and able to perform manual outdoor work.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team.
• Full clean driver’s licence and legal right to work in New Zealand.
