Field Service Technician – Mechanical Fitter

About the role

Sealed Air is looking for a skilled Service Engineer to support its cutting‑edge packaging equipment across New Zealand. Based in Hamilton, you will travel to customer sites, ensuring installations, maintenance and training are delivered to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and execute installation and commissioning of Sealed Air packaging equipment at customer sites throughout New Zealand.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, emergency breakdown repairs and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Provide customer training on equipment operation and routine upkeep.
• Conduct material and equipment audits with the Sales department and contribute to proposals.
• Maintain accurate service records, generate customer service reports and manage invoicing for services and spare parts.
• Control spare‑parts inventory and service tool kits for the assigned region.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or service‑based environment, preferably with packaging machinery.
• Hands‑on experience installing and commissioning mechanical equipment.
• Ability to travel interstate throughout New Zealand and work on‑site at customer facilities.
• Strong adherence to health and safety policies, including risk assessments and SOPs.
