About the role
Rydges Wellington is seeking a proactive Duty Manager to lead the hotel during each shift. You will oversee front‑office operations, maintain service standards, and act as the face of the property for guests and staff.
Key responsibilities
- Direct front‑office activities, ensuring smooth check‑in/check‑out and overall hotel presentation.
- Foster a positive service culture, promptly resolving guest concerns and representing the brand.
- Drive revenue by maximising occupancy, average room rate and upselling across rooms and food & beverage.
- Maintain compliance with financial controls, cashiering, WH&S, security and company policies.
- Coordinate staffing levels, support team productivity and ensure clear inter‑department communication.
- Manage incidents, duty logs and crisis response, safeguarding guests, staff and assets.
Required profile
- At least 1 year of front‑office experience in a hotel environment.
- Calm, confident leader comfortable in a fast‑paced setting.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and professional handling of guest complaints.
- Knowledge of WH&S, security procedures and crisis management.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
