Driver / Operator – Road Maintenance & Heavy Machinery

About the role

Join Downer’s Wainui team as a Driver / Operator, supporting the upgrade and maintenance of roads, pathways and connections across the region. You will work on civil projects that involve picking up road construction tasks, operating heavy machinery and preparing sites for maintenance work.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out civil activities supporting maintenance of unsealed roads, footpaths, kerbs, channels and landscaping.
• Operate a range of plant equipment, including tippers, rollers and loaders.
• Assist with site preparation and the execution of road construction tasks.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to all safety procedures.

Required profile

• Team player who can also work independently when required.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors on your feet.
• Hold a full Class 2 driver licence.
• Practical experience in road construction or civil works.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
