About the role

The Distributor Business Development Manager will lead SKF’s distributor network in New Zealand, ensuring the full portfolio of bearings, seals and power‑transmission solutions is promoted and sold through independent distributors. Based in Auckland, the role works closely with the Segment team, Engineering, Connected Technologies, Marketing and Services to grow market share and identify new opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business growth strategies aligned with distributor KPIs.
  • Analyse SKF value proposition and translate it into distributor development plans.
  • Support accurate forecasting and stock profiling for distributors and the local Distribution Centre.
  • Conduct regular visits to distributor branches and key customers to drive growth targets.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide business intelligence to management.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on joint campaigns, trade shows, webinars and solution days.
  • Assist distributors with value‑added initiatives, pricing models and contract development.
  • Produce monthly management reports on activities, opportunities and sales results using C4C.

Required profile

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in key‑account management or business development within industrial distribution.
  • Proven track record of delivering growth strategies and meeting KPI targets.
  • Sound knowledge of industrial rotating equipment and bearing applications (preferred).
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, marketing and service teams.
