Clinical Lead

About the role

The Clinical Lead will bring registered nursing expertise to the homelessness sector, supporting people with complex mental health and addiction needs to secure stable housing. Working Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑4:30 pm in an office‑based setting, you will guide risk assessment, shape care plans and build strong partnerships with local health services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical guidance across the service, supporting both staff and clients.
• Assess risk, interpret medical information and develop safe, effective support plans.
• Connect clients to AOD, mental health and primary‑care services using local Tauranga networks.
• Lead case reviews, hold courageous conversations and build team capability.
• Champion the Housing First approach and promote social‑justice outcomes.

Required profile

• Current NZ Registered Nurse with a valid annual practising certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in mental health and/or addictions.
• Established relationships with primary‑care, mental‑health and AOD services in Tauranga.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to guide, influence and support others.
• Confidence in risk assessment, clinical decision‑making and service evaluation.

Required skills

• Clinical risk assessment and interpretation of medical notes.
• Development of practical support and care plans.
• Knowledge of AOD, mental‑health pathways and the Housing First model.
